How to Use ContentsOps Step by Step: A Complete Walkthrough

Using a new content automation tool is like being thrown into a new cockpit. You can see every button, toggle, and menu, but all you want to do is press some buttons to make a clean, publish-ready article without thinking about what each button does. ContentsOps automates this entire workflow - we can turn fuzzy ideas into production-ready blog posts in minutes.
If you are running a single brand blog or multiple client websites, here is a real-world walk-through of what goes on inside ContentsOps, and how to use it step-by-step.
Touring the Main Dashboard
Once you've signed in, the main dashboard is your "command center" for working. The left sidebar contains four main sections: Projects, Content Queue, Brand Profiles, and Integrations. In the center of the screen, you can view a live representation of your content pipeline. You can view posts currently being written, items waiting for your review, and posts that have already been published to your CMS platforms. If you are managing multiple brand sites, you can switch between them by selecting the project switcher at the top left of your dashboard - all of your styles, credentials, and assets are isolated in separate workspaces.
Configuring Your Brand Context
Before you create your first post, navigate to the Brand Profiles section. This is where ContentsOps learns how your brand communicates. You will need to configure three different technical contexts:
Voice and Tone: Paste a few examples from your best blog posts so that our AI generator can write articles that sound just like you do (paragraph length and sentence structure will match)
Style Constraints: Paste a list of banned phrases, set a reading level, and define formatting rules (e.g., heading structure, link conventions)
Core Knowledge: Paste facts about your business (product names, specific product features, documented sources for content). Our generator treats this information as "source truth," so it will never hallucinate basic product facts

Creating a Post Step by Step
Once your brand context is configured, click the blue Create Post button at the top of your dashboard. You will be guided through a simple setup wizard to configure the technical parameters of post creation.
First, enter your main topic and a brief description.
Enter your target keywords for SEO, desired word count, and desired language. If your article is about a technical walkthrough or announcing new capabilities with your product, use the prompt guidance box to select the sections or items on your dashboard that you want to include in the article.
Enter your technical parameters. Choose your desired output format (semantic HTML clean), decide if you want to include internal links, and click Generate Draft. The engine is now processing your post against your brand's rules.
Working with Images
All images in ContentsOps are handled as contextual image slots. You don't need to go through the tedious process of manually browsing stock image libraries. Instead, our engine will automatically generate targeted photographer briefs for each section of your content.
When you open your draft in the editor, you'll see image cards in between content blocks.
Each image card will have an aspect ratio (e.g., 16:9 for wide headers, 4:3 for editorial cutaways) and a visual prompt (lighting, textures, composition, etc.) of what your image should look like. From this panel, you can generate candidate images using our image engine, alter the visual prompt (e.g., props, angles) if you want to tweak them, or upload your own image to this particular slot. Our engine will automatically insert the appropriate image markers in your body code, and your images will be in the right place in your layout.
Preview and Publish
Before publishing your article, you can toggle between the visual and raw code view. The code view will show you clean, validated HTML tags (headings, lists, anchors), with no clutter or inline styling conflicts. When you're ready to publish your article and images, you can export the raw markup to your clipboard, or publish your article directly to your WordPress, Ghost, or custom webhook endpoint. Once your article is published, your dashboard will update your queue status, and your pipeline is ready for your next article.
